matchbox art call! (^_^)/

Hello.
I am calling mail art.
One idea, I want to make art in/on matchbox or of box of its size.
I am not good at making small objects and just want to inspired from other. I would like to gather small sized box art.
I have no intension to show in public at the moment, but I will post on my blog.

Thankfully they are more and more people participating, and I may find some place to show or make a photobook of all of your works to show to others.
Preferably match box size, but it could be any sizes that fit in the regular envelopes, such as a business card box or soap box, candy box etc... And if you want, you can make your own box rather than ready made match box.  (intension of my project is a match box sized art but for YOU the kind of box is OPEN to your creativity)

Sending me in a regular sized airmail envelope, which means I like the box that fit in the size.

My concept:
I did something prosaic.

Description of your performance

This is a part of the ideas from #CreativeSprint that is to make a legal impermanent graffiti in a public space.

I drew a cat face with cat food as installation in my front yard.

Normally I give the cat food in a bowl but she came and ate her face which I thought that it is funny. Off course she did not realize that it is her face, but I think that makes to complete the performance, as “a Cat Eating the Cat Face.”

About the collage, in my daily life, I like to pick up trash on the street in my neighborhood and sometime make some art out of. The base paper for this collage is a political Kyosanto campaign poster (the Japanese Communist
Party) which was thrown away after the election and were damped in the ditch. 4 photographs from “a cat eating the cat food” project, a trash from seaweed container, paper trash, and pamphlet from the US tourist places are also attached to elaborate my daily life.

mail art in non FB time...

Before Facebook era, I did not know anybody in IUOMA but member just sent me without telling me or asking my address. They just looked up my page (I guess) and sent me. It was mysterious because I had no idea who is this guy or woman sent me or what were their mail art about.... In FB, they post photos and explain their in coming or their own mail art, so I kind of understand what they are about or who they are.
It is good in a way, but I think I miss the time that I did not know anyone or what is about "mail art".
I really liked the mystery about mail art, and I feel Dada from the process doing and getting mysterious mail in my mail box.

Right now, someone ask me, "I like the one you posted on your timeline can you send me?" kind of things happens often. I am getting wonder, if THIS IS MAIL ART?
Answer may be yes, or no, depending on people's interpretation of definition. Some people just enjoy sending and receiving materials  or art that already promised and they feel ok....

I guess I am more like a contemporary nerd and feel happy that don't tell me when or who is sending and sending me weird stuff.

So I posted my member link here and my address is stated. If you want, please feel free to look at and do what ever you want with it.
Thanks for reading that far...
